Civic Projects
Council Offices, Windsor
The Council Offices for the Royal Borough of Windsor &
Maidenhead in Sheet Street, Windsor occupy a prominent site in the town’s
conservation area. Although the car park occupies most of the site few would
guess it exists at all as the entire area is covered with a platform that is
planted and landscaped to form the ground level of the new building above.
Wokingham Library
The Library occupies a site in the town at the corner of
Denmark Street and Longborough Road and provides 1400m˛ of floor space using a
split level design. The main entrance is at the upper level. The leading section
of the library on the upper floor is enhanced by the opening up of the roof
spaces to create a feeling of spaciousness above the book stacks. The modeling
of the building, use of varying roof shapes and materials used have been
designed to fit into the surrounding streetscape.
