Edgington Spink and Hyne where appointed to work with Eton College on the proposed refurbishment and alteration programme for Evans’s House, one of the Boys boarding houses at the college. The proposal was to increase the number of study bedrooms at the house and due to the constraints of the site the only viable location was in the existing courtyard. Due to the difficulties with access, the design was based upon lightweight manageable materials of steel framework and timber cladding. Planning permission was achieved for the courtyard proposals even though the building is situated within the flood plain area. Back to Educational Project Listing |
