History

Thomas EdgingtonThomas Edgington was born in 1820 and first came to Windsor in 1852. He established the practice in 1856 as Edgington and Son. During the following years work was undertaken at Windsor Castle and for the Nobility and Gentry, and the firm prospered.

In 1907 Herbert Spink joined the firm which continued until 1955 as Edgington and Spink, when Reginald Hyne's name was added to the title. During the whole of this period the offices were in the centre of Windsor.

old Park Street officesEast Berkshire contains many examples of the work of the practice in its earlier days; buildings which are now landmarks, listed as being of architectural interest or in conservation areas.

In the 1920's and '30's a reputation for high quality brick buildings was established. Many banks and public houses completed in this era bear witness to the lasting quality of their designs.

In 1991 Edgington Spink and Hyne relocated to new offices in a joint development with solicitors Charsley Harrison comprising of converted barns and stables in Riding Court, Datchet.
